About the role

  • Diligently review user-generated content (text, images, videos) submitted in German, ensuring adherence to platform guidelines and policies.
  • Apply content guidelines consistently and accurately to identify and action inappropriate, offensive, or harmful content.
  • Make informed and timely decisions regarding content visibility, removal, or escalation based on established criteria.
  • Accurately log and document moderation decisions and observations to maintain record-keeping.
  • Proactively identify emerging content trends, policy gaps, or potential risks and report them to relevant teams.
  • Stay updated on evolving content policies, guidelines, and cultural nuances to ensure effective moderation.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure consistent moderation practices and contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Adhere to strict data privacy and security protocols during all moderation activities.
  • Participate in comprehensive training and continuous learning initiatives.
  • Work on-site from the Porto office as part of a dynamic international team on a project for a global digital media and entertainment company.

Requirements

  • Fluent German (C1/C2 Level Preferred) with exceptional understanding of German language, culture, and online trends.
  • Proficient English (B2 Level or Higher) for internal communication and training.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to quickly assess and interpret content.
  • Excellent judgment, especially when dealing with sensitive or ambiguous content.
  • Attention to detail; meticulous in reviewing large volumes of content.
  • Ethical and responsible with a commitment to online safety.
  • Adaptability and resilience; capable of handling sensitive and potentially disturbing content professionally.
  • Basic computer literacy and ability to learn new applications quickly.
  • Team player able to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • On-site availability: must be able to work from the company's modern offices in Porto, Portugal.
  • Prior experience in content moderation or a related field is a plus but not required.
