About the role
- Monitor cash flow and working capital, including overseeing WIP (Work-in-Progress) and accounts receivable
- Implement strategies to optimize cash flow and liquidity and enforce cost control measures
- Work closely with the UK Billing team to drive end-to-end client billing, ensuring invoices are issued promptly and accurately
- Drive cash collection and credit control: follow up on overdue invoices and resolve client billing issues
- Allocate cash and produce invoices on the core finance system when necessary due to time differences
- Lead regular WIP and debtor review meetings with local and central teams to track unbilled work and aged receivables
- Develop interim billing schedules for long-running matters to avoid delays in invoicing
- Collaborate with global and regional finance teams to ensure consistency in processes, systems usage, and reporting
- Act as the point of contact for finance matters in Dubai and Qatar and business partner to Partners and senior stakeholders
- Champion budgeting and forecasting processes for the Dubai and Qatar offices and monitor performance against budgets
- Provide local guidance and day-to-day support for the UK Billing Team and ensure firm-wide invoice procedures are efficient
- Drive continuous improvement and adopt best practices in law firm working capital management
Requirements
- Experience working with a busy finance environment – preferably in a Law Firm
- Excellent verbal & written communication
- Proactive / self-starter with positive can do attitude
- Attention to detail & deliver high quality work
- Excellent organisational and time management skills to meet targets and deadlines
- A flexible approach to working hours
- Detail oriented approach with significant emphasis on achieving a high quality of work
- Invoicing experience is essential
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced dynamic environment
