About the role
- Lead product development of the chess curriculum and define the roadmap for what to teach and how to teach it
- Develop novel lesson formats and learning features that teach core chess skills (ie: openings, midgame tactics, endgames, planning)
- Perform qualitative and quantitative research to explore and validate curriculum changes
- Partner with product and learning designers to ensure a fun, delightful, and effective learning experience
- Work with engineers to implement and guide feature development
- Run experiments to update, evaluate, and iterate on how we teach
Requirements
- An Elo rating 1400+ (Lichess)
- Experience generating outstanding results as a Product Manager at a software company
- A desire to make the world a better place through technology and education
- Ability to apply user insights, data, and statistical analyses to inform decisions
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve, be curious, and innovative
- Experience leading successful projects and teams
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Business, Design, Psychology, or equivalent
- Proficiency with Python and SQL
- (Exceptional) Experience teaching chess in an academic or extracurricular setting
- (Exceptional) Experience competing in chess tournaments
- (Exceptional) Proficiency using or implementing chess engines
