Design and analyse moderately complex electro-mechanical systems through the product life cycle
Conduct and report on feasibility studies and testing on new and modified designs
Direct support personnel in the preparation of detailed design, design testing and prototype fabrication
Use Solidworks 3D CAD for electro-mechanical packaging
Manage configuration/ERP using Solidworks PDM & Syteline
Design to meet MIL-STD-810 and DO160 qualification standards
Manage product life cycle development from concept design through obsolescence management
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including Production, QA, and Suppliers
Provide technical support to failure investigations and produce formal reports
Provide clear guidance to the engineering team and ensure design solution processes are airworthy
Requirements
Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
At least 5 years’ experience in electro-mechanical design within an aerospace / automotive / medical / safety-critical environment
Demonstrated high performance and achievement in full product development life cycle (including system design, development, integration, test, verification)
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high quality solutions
Familiar with designing for rugged systems housing PCBAs, subjected to environmental/EMC testing
Familiar with design for manufacture principles (Machining, Sheet Metal, FDM printing)
Experience in Finite Element Analysis / Computational Fluid Dynamics is desirable but not essential
Proficiency with Solidworks 3D CAD
