About the role
- Support recruitment, training, and ongoing development of a high-performing culinary and retail team.
- Provide coaching and feedback to ensure outstanding customer experience and develop team members.
- Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational experiences to inspire customer loyalty.
- Maintain product expertise through training and independent learning.
- Lead a customer-focused, Guest Obsessed culture and resolve customer concerns promptly.
- Partner with General/Store Manager to develop and implement merchandising, marketing, and engagement strategies to exceed sales goals.
- Analyze daily performance metrics, apply insights, and lead team follow-ups to drive results.
- Assist with daily store operations, inventory accuracy, shrink minimization, merchandising, store safety, and cleanliness.
- Maintain accuracy and integrity of associate records and adhere to wage and hour laws and SOPs.
- Perform physical tasks including retrieving merchandise, operating POS systems, and using ladders as needed.
Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of employment.
- 1-2 years of retail management experience, preferably in a specialty or culinary retail environment.
- Proven track record of achieving sales and motivating high performing sales teams while meeting operational goals.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and retain a high performing team.
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems preferred.
- Ability to communicate verbally and work cooperatively with associates and customers.
- Ability to remain standing for up to 5 hours at a time and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Availability for a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
