Generate and maintain financial reports and records (income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, budgets, expense reports).
Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for financial audits; conduct audits for accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
Assist in maintaining GL, prepare JEs and adjustments; execute month-end close processes, ad-hoc reporting, and variance analysis.
Develop and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports; generate and distribute regular financial reports to stakeholders.
Coordinate billing processes including invoices, payments, receipts related to insurance premiums, commissions, and other financial transactions; resolve billing discrepancies and reconcile accounts.
Monitor AR and AP and follow up on outstanding balances; collaborate with underwriting and policy issuance teams for accurate premium calculations and billing.
Provide cross-functional operational support to finance, compliance and operations teams; coordinate with licensing and compliance vendors and assist with broker/agent licensing processes.
Assist in preparation of documentation for finance and compliance audits and regulatory inspections; serve as primary point of contact for licensing inquiries.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
7+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a similar role, working for an MGA, insurance broker or carrier.
US GAAP accounting and financial reporting experience required.
Familiarity with insurance industry practices, terminology and accounting for premium/commission transactions (preferred).
Strong proficiency in financial software, Concur and MS Office Suite (especially Excel).
Experience with Power BI reporting preferred.
Experience with GL, JE entries, month-end close, variance analysis, and reconciliations.
