About the role
- Drive new business opportunities from start to finish, from initial inquiry to forecasted pipeline to deal design and close.
- Develop and implement a sales strategy for your territory and/or targeted list of customers.
- Develop a deep understanding of the Comet value proposition in the market and be able to concisely articulate this value to prospects and customers.
- Constantly focus on prospecting into Enterprise companies (>1000 employees) in North America to ensure long term success.
- Provide continuous updates on all active accounts and report on sales, activities, status and progress on a regular basis.
- Demonstrate technical knowledge of the ML and MLOps space and an appetite to learn new technologies, algorithms, and ideas from the field.
- Proactively work with your Technical Account Manager to design customer success and expansion strategies to drive new business from existing customers.
- Be willing and able to travel for client visits, conferences and presentations.
Requirements
- Ability to operate in a highly ambiguous and fast-paced environment
- 2+ experience in selling Enterprise focused technical solutions to technical buyers/users, preferably at a company selling to people directly involved in the ML/AI development process.
- Prior experience selling to data science teams
- 4+ years closing annual contracts of at least $100K/year, and handling yearly quotas of $1mm+
- Strong technical background, ideally as a sales engineer or some technical educational program
- Ability to understand Comet and build great relationships with highly technical customers
- Prior experience at a fast-paced startup and able to work well in unstructured environments
- Proven negotiation and closing skills
- Nice to have: a technical background or formal data science training
