About the role

  • Lead engineering efforts behind Cloudflare’s product analytics initiatives, including instrumenting the product and building data pipelines for product analytics and billing
  • Collaborate closely with product management, design, and go-to-market teams and with product teams across the company
  • Foster a high-performance culture within your engineering team and promote engineering excellence across Cloudflare
  • Own successful execution of goals within product analytics, drive goal-setting, monitor delivery, and unblock obstacles
  • Break down ambiguous problems into concrete goals, set strategy across teams, and develop a vision for the future of the area
  • Use engineering expertise to improve data quality, pipeline reliability, and development velocity; implement best practices for data instrumentation and pipelines
  • Serve internal customers by understanding reporting needs, engaging data consumers, and enabling stakeholders to contribute to analytics across web properties
  • Manage data quality, governance, and cost drivers like storage and processing while ensuring adherence to governance policies

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in software engineering
  • At least 5 years in leadership roles focusing on data or analytics
  • Demonstrated excellence in building and maintaining data pipelines for product analytics or billing in an enterprise setting
  • Proven track record of driving organizational excellence and making tough decisions when necessary
  • Deep understanding of modern data stacks, product instrumentation, and web technologies
  • Engineering background preferred; ability to engage credibly with technical teams
  • Fluent in working directly with data to inform decisions and persuade stakeholders
  • Ability to define and track key metrics to measure progress and impact
  • Exceptional communication skills, capable of persuading and influencing cross-functional teams
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams in a dynamic environment
  • Experience reorganizing teams to improve success and adapt to changing goals
  • Strong track record of managing competing priorities and ensuring critical tasks are completed
  • Experience with data instrumentation and pipeline development and best practices
  • Stay informed about modern data stacks, analytics tools, and web technologies
  • Authorization to receive software or technology controlled under U.S. export laws without sponsorship for an export license may be required
