About the role
- Serves as a function/business/product compliance risk officer for Independent Compliance Risk Management (ICRM) to support the Citi Retail Services (CRS) organization
- Assist with internal strategies, policies, procedures, processes, and programs to prevent violations of law, rule, or regulation and design and deliver a risk management framework
- Engage with ICRM Product and Function coverage teams to develop and apply CRM program solutions consistent with Citi program framework
- Monitor compliance risk behaviors and provide day-to-day Compliance advice relating to the supported function/business/product and guidance on rules/laws and interpretation of internal policies and procedures
- Provide compliance oversight of CRS Lending and Connected Commerce activities, including strategic programs and new product development initiatives
- Liaise with stakeholders across lines of defense including ORM, Legal, Product Managers, Operations and Technology teams
- Provide transactional approvals and interpretation of internal compliance policies
- Assist with regulatory inquiries and/or examinations and coordination with regulators
- Collaborate with Legal, Business Management, Operations, Technology, Finance, other Control Functions, and In-Business Risk to address compliance issues
- Support the function/business/product in performing timely compliance reviews of new products
- Assist in the development and administration of Compliance training for the supported function/business/product
- Research new reform rules and rule changes and implement policies, procedures or other controls necessary to comply
- Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, escalate, manage and report control issues with transparency
Requirements
- Knowledge of Compliance laws, rules, regulations, risks and typologies
- Awareness of regulatory requirements including local and US laws, international and industry
- Familiarity with consumer banking laws, rules and regulations such as Regulation Z (Truth in Lending), Regulation B (Equal Credit Opportunity Act), UDAAP, Regulation P (Privacy), Regulation V (Fair Credit Reporting), TCPA (Telephone Communications Protection Act) and Fair Lending and Fairness compliance requirements
- Experience with Credit Card Compliance preferred
- Must be a self-starter, flexible, innovative and adaptive
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and with people at all levels of the organization
- Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to both work collaboratively and independently; ability to navigate a complex organization
- Advanced analytical skills
- Excellent project management and organizational skills and capability to handle multiple projects at one time
- Proficient in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Demonstrated knowledge in area of focus
- Relevant certifications desirable
- Bachelor’s degree (Advanced degree preferred)
