About the role

  • Collaborate with senior leaders and managers to align HR strategies with business objectives
  • Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders on HR matters and organisational effectiveness
  • Proactively identify HR trends, issues, and opportunities
  • Support and drive employee engagement initiatives and maintain culture of great employee experience
  • Ensure compliance with Portuguese labour laws and advise on employment contracts, working hours, leaves, and legal requirements
  • Develop, implement, and review HR policies, procedures, and guidelines
  • Educate employees and managers on HR policies and conduct regular audits for compliance
  • Provide guidance and support on employee relations, conflict resolution and workplace investigations
  • Investigate and address employee complaints and mediate disputes
  • Analyze HR metrics and prepare reports to management with insights and recommendations

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred)
  • Extensive experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist, with a focus on Portuguese labour law and corrective action processes
  • Strong knowledge of Portuguese labour legislation, employment contracts, disciplinary procedures, and workplace compliance requirements
  • Proven experience in developing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data to drive insights and support decision-making
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion and professionalism
  • Fluency in English is essential
