Therapist

• Responsible for the care and treatment of physical therapy patients as outlined in the initial evaluation treatment plan.

• Relieve pain and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part.
• Provides rehabilitation physical therapy care to inpatients and outpatients inclusive of modality/exercise treatments, wound care and modality and gait training.

• Responsible for the evaluation of referred patients to assess their medical condition and functional limitations, restrictions and complaints.

• Reporting to the Manager, with direction from the Registered Nurse, responsible for providing high quality, continuous observation and reporting a patient’s electrocardiographic presentation.
• Performing duties in a manner that provides for the physical, psycho-social and spiritual needs of the patient.
• Incorporating cultural and ethnic factors into patient care activities.
• Correctly differentiating and reporting normal and abnormal findings with direction from the RN.

• Responsible for assisting the licensed personnel in keeping the department running smoothly by performing therapeutic activities within the scope of on the job training and with on-site supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant.
• Provides therapy care to inpatients and outpatients within the scope of documented on the job training and with onsite supervision of a licensed therapist or therapist assistant.
• Essential therapeutic care includes, but is not limited to moist heat, cryotherapy, massage, ultrasound, electrical stimulation, whirlpool, intermittent cervical/pelvic traction, and therapeutic exercise.
• Performs daily clerical and office duties inclusive of, but not limited to outpatient scheduling, Xeroxing, filing charts and records and placing completed notes in patient charts.
