About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Responsible for the care and treatment of physical therapy patients as outlined in the initial evaluation treatment plan.
- Provide care to improve and restore movement and function.
- Relieve pain and prevent disability following disease, injury or loss of body part.
- Provides rehabilitation physical therapy care to inpatients and outpatients inclusive of modality/exercise treatments, wound care and modality and gait training.
- Documentation of process notes and flow sheets/charts according to guidelines of the department, Medicare, Worker’s Compensation or other specific payors.
- Patient, family and community education.
- Provides ongoing assessment of patient progress and the need for continued physical therapy care in daily progress notes.
- Works jointly with the physical therapist following the outlined treatment plan and recommending changes in the treatment plan as assessed.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of APTA two year PTA program with an Associate’s degree.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Current and Valid State of California License.
- Eligible for membership in the APTA and must adhere to Code of Ethics of the APTA.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
- Current and Valid Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of hire).
- Assault Response Competency (ARC) (within 30 days of employment).
