About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Functions as a Lead of the healthcare team
- Coordinates departmental operations
- Demonstrates responsibility and accountability for own professional practice
- May recommend to management in efficient resource allocation by assuring appropriate patient assignments, staffing, and scheduling
- Champions new ideas
- Acts as a resource, preceptor and mentor to new employees
- Adjusts staffing needs of the department
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduate of a Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) approved nursing program or equivalent curriculum
- BSN preferred
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing
- Two years of RN experience in an acute care environment, one of which included charge and or preceptor responsibility
- Valid California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification from the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) or American Heart Association (AHA)
- S.T.A.B.L.E. Baby Assessment (required within 6 months of employment)
- Los Angeles County Fire Card (required within 30 days of employment)
- Assault Response Competency (ARC) (required within 30 days of employment)
