About the role
- Provide financial support to Comprehensive Transplant Center managing transplant-related financial processes
- Monitor, track, and report organ acquisition services in compliance with guidelines
- Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations for transplant-related services
- Facilitate inpatient admissions, hospital-to-hospital transfers, and direct admits from clinics
- Coordinate with clinical teams and external payers
- Stay current with regulations and legislation related to third-party reimbursement for transplant services
- Provide financial counseling to patients and families
- Document insurance and financial information accurately in CS-Link
- Serve as resource for external partners on transplant-related services and billing processes
- Participate in on-call rotation to support urgent transplant needs after hours and on weekends
- Assist with special financial data projects and collaborate with finance leadership
- Perform analysis and interpretation of financial data and recommend corrective actions
Requirements
- High school diploma/GED required
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration or another related field preferred
- A minimum of 2 years of financial analysis or financial auditing experience required, preferably in healthcare
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in transplant insurance eligibility, verification, transplant billing, or collection strongly preferred
- Transplant financial analysis, knowledge of transplant case rates, transplant billing and reimbursement experience highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of Managed Care, Medicare, Medi-Cal, and Capitated regulatory and authorization procedures highly preferred
- Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems (e.g., CS-Link/Epic)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure environment
