About the role
- Review, negotiate, and manage a high volume of agreements, including vendor contracts across SaaS, consulting, event, and other service categories.
- Own the end-to-end contract management lifecycle of vendor contracts and MNDAs in Ironclad, including negotiation, redlining, collaboration with internal stakeholders, and escalating with commercial counsel guidance when needed.
- Manage MNDAs efficiently and autonomously while partnering closely with procurement, finance, legal, and information security teams to support, align, and coordinate the vendor contracting process.
- Streamline the contract intake cycle and manage intake, routing, and approvals for vendor documentation.
- Advise internal clients (business, finance, IT) on contractual risk and policy and serve as a key escalation point for contract-related inquiries.
- Maintain, enhance, and optimize Ironclad contract workflows and clause templates or playbooks; ensure accurate contract records, data integrity, and reporting within contract management tools.
- Serve as subject matter expert for legal operations with focus on process optimization, automation, and improvements to the contract lifecycle.
- Foster cross-functional collaboration, operate with high attention to detail and urgency; report to Associate General Counsel, Commercial and work within a pod of legal professionals.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in contract management, with substantial involvement in vendor and professional services agreements (including SaaS).
- Demonstrated expertise in negotiating and managing contracts using Ironclad.
- Significant experience supporting or partnering with procurement teams; comfort managing intake, routing, and approvals for vendor documentation.
- High volume contract management experience in dynamic, scaling environments.
- Experience working in—and onboarding with—a fully remote company; strong remote communication and self-management skills.
- Basic understanding of commercial contract law, best practices, and risk identification.
- Ability to communicate via video conferencing with internal and external parties to finalize the contracting process.
- Proven track record of cross-functional collaboration, managing competing priorities, and delivering results under pressure.
- Technical acumen with Ironclad workflow coding/configuration. (Preferred)
- Background in legal operations, with a focus on contract automation and process optimization. (Preferred)
- Familiarity with reviewing agreements involving data use (PII and/or PHI) and identifying data privacy issues (Preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Zip procurement software. (Preferred)
