About the role
- Sell directly to consumers or business purchasers and indirectly through various sales channels for Diamond V ruminant and dairy products
- Conduct face-to-face and remote sales with new and existing customers
- Assist in evaluating customer needs and suggest appropriate products, services, and solutions
- Provide expert technical support to customers, dairies, nutritionists, and veterinarians
- Identify potential customers and handle existing customer relationships
- Conduct market research and pricing, sales, and merchandising activities
- Monitor customer and competitor activity and industry trends
- Protect, grow, and diversify relationships with targeted customers
- Support business growth by disseminating favorable information about the organization and its products and services
- Responsible for achieving sales goals and maintaining expense budget
- Independently solve moderately complex issues with minimal supervision and escalate more complex issues as appropriate
- Home office role requiring residence in Central Valley California and up to 75% travel
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent years of experience
- Minimum of two years of related work experience in sales or business development in feed additives, dairy industry, or related field
- Experience with technical sales and providing technical support to dairies, nutritionists, and veterinarians
- Experience in the dairy industry - feed or ruminant nutrition
- Able and willing to travel up to 75%
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Preferred: Minimum of six years of sales experience
- Preferred: Sales experience in animal nutrition, feed, animal health, additives, supplements
- Must reside in Central Valley California (Madera, Merced, Stanislaus, San Joaquin)
- The position is eligible for a discretionary incentive award
