About the role
- Work closely with Sales Managers and prospective clients to understand strategic business needs and assist in solving issues
- Identify and communicate how WEX card and non-card products will support client needs
- Establish overall strategic, operational and technical scope of new business opportunities
- Act as part business analyst, part technician, part sales person to craft and communicate solution strategies
- Work with stakeholders (clients, partners, other WEX employees) to define requirements and success criteria for statements of work and projects
- Collaborate with Implementation Managers, Supplier Enablement, and Account/Relationship Managers
- Demonstrate product functionality and explain proposed solutions to technical and non-technical audiences
- Contribute to projects involving new revenue streams, new products or enhancements, client or platform migrations, and strategic team initiatives
- Earn client and partner trust through communication, technical knowledge and functional expertise
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in the commercial payments (B2B) space
- Strong consulting background is a requirement as is comfort with sales
- Ability to handle fast-paced activity and higher volume backlog of clients
- Knowledge of financial business processes, such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Procurement, and Travel and Expense
- Working understanding of Physical Card, Virtual and Ghost Card, ACH/EFT/Wire, and Check payments applications in the commercial (B2B) space
- Real Time Payments and Mobile Payments applications are a bonus
- ERP system implementations (preferred)
- Proficiency with Google Suite, MS Office, Salesforce, green screens and other in house tools
- Analytical skills as related to payment issues, payment cycles, and transactional flows
- Strong foundation in technology including API - SOAP, REST, file/data transfer protocols
- Experience working for/with Clients or Partners focused on Accounts Payables (AP) and/or Accounts Receivables (AR) processes
- Exceptional verbal and written communication capabilities
- Effective collaboration skills across multiple teams
- Practical problem-solving capabilities
- Techno-functional ability to work hands-on with technology and demonstrate product and business objectives
- Ability to present effectively and answer detailed questions
