About the role
- Own the strategy and execution for Canals’ payments business, from vision to revenue.
- Build and lead a cross-functional team across product, operations, and GTM as the business scales.
- Partner with product and engineering to develop B2B payments and embedded finance products that solve real distributor pain points.
- Define KPIs, pricing, and revenue models for payments products and services.
- Develop strategic partnerships with banks, processors, and fintech providers.
- Ensure compliance and security standards are met as we expand financial capabilities.
- Represent the payments business internally and externally — driving thought leadership and customer engagement.
Requirements
- 8–15+ years of experience in payments, fintech, or B2B financial products.
- Proven track record of building or scaling a new business line (GM, VP, or Head of role preferred).
- Deep understanding of payments infrastructure, merchant onboarding, settlements, and embedded finance.
- Strategic thinker who can balance vision with execution.
- Strong leadership and communication skills; thrives in fast-moving, high-ownership environments.
- Experience in startup or growth-stage SaaS companies preferred.
- Comfortable working remotely with distributed teams across time zones.
