About the role
- Lead cloud migrations.
- Drive application containerization by leveraging Kubernetes to improve scalability and maintainability.
- Disaster recovery planning and implementation.
- Establish and promote Kubernetes best practices across the organization.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions.
- Apply AWS best practices to ensure secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud architecture.
- Participate in security audits and lead remediation efforts to maintain compliance and harden infrastructure.
- Transition to immutable infrastructure to increase reliability and simplify deployment.
- Expand usage of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform.
- Manage engineering backlogs and sprints, ensuring effective sprint planning and execution.
- Mentor team members and lead upskilling initiatives to foster professional growth and knowledge sharing.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in infrastructure or platform engineering roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management position.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS (EKS, EC2, IAM, RDS, etc.).
- Proven experience with GitOps tools—preferably ArgoCD—and a strong understanding of GitOps principles.
- Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes.
- Experience designing, building, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform).
- Deep understanding of cloud security principles and experience with auditing and remediation.
- Familiarity with immutable infrastructure patterns.
- Track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and mentoring engineers.
- Experience with Agile methodologies, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
- Experience merging or integrating teams and building a unified team culture is a plus
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tools (New Relic, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, etc.) is a plus.
- Knowledge of FinOps techniques for cloud infrastructure is a plus.
- Certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or similar is a plus.
