About the role
- Lead and inspire the Core Experience team: manage, mentor, and grow a team of product designers focused on foundational product flows, interaction models, and core UX patterns.
- Define and elevate core journeys: own onboarding, navigation, discovery, messaging, safety interactions, and subscription moments; ensure they are delightful, inclusive, and intuitive.
- Champion accessibility and inclusivity as core pillars of design excellence.
- Balance systems and experience: leverage design systems and patterns to scale quality and cohesion; partner with the Systems team to ensure consistency across platforms.
- Drive strategic alignment: collaborate with Product, Engineering, Research, and Data Science to define strategy, prioritize investments, and deliver experiences that resonate globally.
- Influence product decisions with a holistic perspective on usability, desirability, and feasibility.
- Raise the bar for craft and innovation: set standards for interaction design, motion, and visual polish; explore innovative approaches to social interaction and trust.
- Shape culture and community: foster a user-first, inclusive, and experimental design culture and act as an ambassador for Core Experience across Bumble.
Requirements
- 10+ years in Product Design, with 4+ years leading teams in consumer product or core experience contexts.
- Proven track record of shaping and scaling cross-platform product experiences at a global scale.
- Deep expertise in interaction design, UX research collaboration, and design-to-engineering partnership.
- Ability to set product-wide design standards while staying grounded in user needs and business goals.
- Inspirational leadership that fosters growth, inclusion, and creativity.
- Excellent storytelling, collaboration, and strategic influence skills.
- Experience working across time zones and disciplines.
