About the role
- Provide leadership and guidance, work to improve core processes, and manage projects
- Accept ownership of all quality function throughout the company and ensure the staff is fully developed
- Lead teams of Quality engineers, inspectors, auditors, analysts, and technicians across Albers Aerospace
- Ensure that the organization’s Quality Management System conforms to customer, internal, AS9100, ISO 9000, and regulatory/legal requirements
- Conduct regular audits and ensure evaluation of, and reporting on, vendor quality systems
- Oversee inspection (examination) of incoming materials, ensuring that they meet requirements
- Manage the monitoring, measurement, and review of internal processes, especially those that affect the quality of the organization’s products
- Work with customers, teammates, contractors, and outsourcing firms to develop product requirements
- Report to top management on the performance of the QMS (e.g., results of quality audits, corrective actions), including the need for improvement
- Conduct periodic management review meetings
- Oversee product recalls
- Maintain current knowledge of standards, regulations/laws, issues, and news with respect to product (service) quality
Requirements
- Applicants must possess 10+ years of specialized work experience
- Must hold a Bachelor’s degree; or an equivalent combination of experience and education
- Applicants must have led Quality Assurance departments for at least two years
- Must have experience with aerospace quality assurance processes and management to include standards such as AS9100, ISO 9000, CMMI, DO-178B, etc.
- Military or Government Service background preferred
- Excellent written and oral communication skills are preferred
- Strong computer skills are required for this position
- Must possess or be able to obtain a Secret security clearance
