About the role

  • Operate as the lead point of contact for all matters specific to Client account management
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships
  • Understand what success means to Clients and shape plans delivering value-added results
  • Attend/lead Client meetings to ensure continuous alignment on deliverables
  • Execute Client go-to-market strategies through field teams
  • Provide clear retail execution direction to Brand Momentum Regional Leaders
  • Prepare and present regularly scheduled performance updates
  • Track and assess key account performance metrics to identify challenges and opportunities
  • Review retailer sales data and prepare plans for underperforming locations
  • Be active in the field to evaluate and measure execution of plans
  • Escalate Client issues in a timely and proactive manner
  • Conduct ½ day field visit bi-weekly to observe execution conditions and identify opportunities
  • Develop, mentor and coach direct reports when applicable
  • Assist in hiring staff as required
  • Handle conflict resolution, complaints or emergencies that may fall outside regular business hours
  • Travel within North America when needed
  • Report to Sr. Director – Sales and Merchandising and drive Client KPI targets

Requirements

  • Post-Secondary degree, preferably in Business
  • 5+ years’ experience in an Account / Client management role
  • Excellent client relationship management skills
  • Client-focused and approachable
  • Strong understanding of CPG
  • Driven by achievement of client KPIs and sales metrics
  • Multiple channel knowledge – Mass, Drug and Grocery (Convenience/Gas is an asset)
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to execute in the field and implement market strategy
  • Flawless execution of client plans
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Ability to mine and review retailer sales data
  • Potential oversight of team colleagues (administrative and/or client management)
  • Extremely detailed and organized with excellent follow-through
  • Bilingual an asset
  • Operates with trust and integrity

  • Excellent communication skills – listening, verbal and written
  • Ability to establish plans and set priorities
  • Well-developed negotiation skills
  • Ability to travel within North America when needed
