About the role

  • Develops and validates requirements for unique communication, sensor, electronic warfare and other electromagnetic systems and components
  • Develops and validates electromagnetic requirements for electrical/electronic systems, mechanical systems, interconnects and structures
  • Develops architectures to integrate multiple systems into higher level systems and platforms
  • Leads development of trade studies, modeling, simulation and other analysis to predict component, interconnect and system performance and optimize design
  • Develops new and improved modeling and simulation techniques
  • Leads development and execution of critical tests to validate performance of designs to requirements
  • Manages appropriate aspects of critical supplier and partner performance to ensure compliance to requirements
  • Provides support to products throughout their lifecycle by providing guidance and support to resolve complex issues
  • Supports project management by coordinating development of work statement, budget, schedule and conducting reviews
  • Creates new tools to improve management of projects
  • Leads development of major sections of large-scale proposals to support development of new business
  • Works under consultative direction

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science (required)
  • 7+ years of design experience designing, developing, testing, troubleshooting photonics circuits and systems for various applications including space (required)
  • Well versed in digital and control electronics (required)
  • Master\'s degree or higher in Engineering or Physics (preferred)
  • 10+ years of design experience for Senior level (preferred)
  • In-depth knowledge of optics, laser systems, photonic devices, optical low noise amplifiers, multi-watt optical high-power amplifiers (preferred)
  • Hands-on experience in prototype development and testing (preferred)
  • Familiar with the latest advancements in photonics and researching new technologies (preferred)
  • Active Secret, Top Secret, or SSBI Clearance (preferred)
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance (interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance post-start required)
  • Must meet export control compliance; must be a “U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 (U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee)
