About the role
- Lead the quarterly and annual state income tax provisions and SEC reporting per ASC 740
- Manage state income tax audits
- Analyze implications of state tax legislation and develop tax strategies for implementation
- Support advocacy efforts, including analysis of credit and incentive opportunities
- Manage the state income tax compliance process, including preparation/review of state apportionment, annual filings, quarterly estimates, extensions, and state cash forecasting
- Manage tax consultants to provide technical and compliance advice
- Integrate new technologies to improve existing processes
- Collaborate with cross-office tax teams and other Boeing business partners and external consultants
- Report to senior management in Chicago and interact frequently with teams in Saint Louis and Seattle
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in accounting, finance, business or a related field
- 5+ years of experience working corporate income tax
- Strong tax technical background and foundation in corporate state income taxes
- Familiarity with United States federal tax concepts
- Strong analytical, research and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize work
- Project Management Experience
- CPA or other accounting certification preferred (CPA, CIA, CMA, CPP) and/or accounting degree
- CPA with recent Big 4 public accounting experience (preferred)
- Ability to learn new areas and take on new responsibilities
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Must be authorized to work in the United States (employer will not sponsor visas)
