About the role

  • Manage and supervise the Commercial Servicing and Administration department to ensure optimum service and adherence to policies and procedures
  • Review and approve Subsequent Advances, Operating Line Advances, Partial Discharges, Undertaking/Holdback releases, and PPSA renewals
  • Support Senior Manager with Investor Specialized Financing servicing transactions including monthly remittances
  • Support syndication team with partner remittances, partner inquiries and day to day loan servicing
  • Ensure monthly follow-up for Undertaking/Holdbacks and prioritize/assign tasks to team members
  • Maintain excellent customer service levels and prepare reports relied upon by Senior Management
  • Motivate and support professional growth of the team, including training, development plans, target setting and performance reviews
  • Promote team engagement and the Bank’s Core Values and participate in management/department meetings and special projects
  • Assist with implementing servicing builds and new platforms and create complicated Excel-based spreadsheets
  • Reconciliation of accounts and ensure files are compliant prior to signing cheques and accurate disbursements of funds
  • Communicate and cooperate with external parties (Clients, Lending Partners, Solicitors, Brokers) and internal departments to maintain business relationships and compliance
  • Assist Associate Director with reporting and procedures to comply with lending and regulatory requirements (Basel II, ICOFR, OSFI, CCPM, User Guides)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ mortgage experience (preferably with management experience)
  • Expert understanding of Commercial and specialized finance, servicing products
  • Good understanding of commercial Real Estate, Corporate/Legal documentation (specifically, security documentation) and AML/ATF regulations
  • Post-secondary education (diploma/degree) in accounting with good understanding of general ledgers and accounting principles
  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office (more importantly, Excel), , Athena and PPLUS
  • Ability to build complex excel models
  • Leadership skills with the ability to set strong examples for subordinates and the ability to manage and motivate team members
  • Expert level analytical and program solving skills
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to handle multiple competing priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to respond in a clear, concise and professional manner
  • Understanding of the importance of quality and timely customer service to external clients, solicitors, business partners, and management and staff across the Bank’s departments
  • French bilingual (preferably)
