Recruiter – Fixed Term

Hardware Engineer

• Contribute to the successful development of avionics components for Lunar Vehicles
• Work with a team of engineers to define, test, and certify avionics hardware
• Engage in hardware build, integration, and test of Engineering Development Unit (EDU) and flight hardware
• Develop product requirements, define interfaces, and support hardware build
• Implement verification and qualification strategies
• Conduct root cause analysis and develop mitigation plans for hardware failures

Avionics Hardware Engineer – Level 3

Designer

• Preparing design layouts, creating detail part, assembly, and install models, and releasing data sets using CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
• Applying relevant company techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs
• Interfacing with other vehicle subsystem teams to create and place thermal hardware in the vehicle CAD model
• Reviewing engineering drawing and designs to ensure alignment to established specifications and standards
• Implementing engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements

Technical Designer, CAD III – Thermal Hardware

• Preparing design layouts, creating detail part, assembly, and install models

Technical Designer – CAD III, Avionics

• Prepare/evolve design layouts, create and maintain detail part and assembly drawings using CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools.
• Support engineering teams in the development with mechanical layout and detail design and drawing for structural, mechanical, fluids and electronic detail parts and assemblies.
• Apply relevant company (design, drafting, parts) techniques to plan, layout, and maintain data depicting engineering designs (detail, assembly and installation drawings or datasets).
• Implement engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve a balanced approach to cost, schedule and performance requirements.

Technical Designer – CAD II

• Design and testing of primary and secondary structures, including composites and metallic piece parts, as well as integrated structural assemblies.
• Create 3D models, detail part drawings, assemblies, installations, and interface control documents.
• Support configuration development and trade studies.
• Apply practical approaches to hardware fabrication and cost impacts.
• Work with vertically integrated teams that are responsible for materials, manufacturing processes, to produce world-class aerospace hardware.

Structural Designer III – Lunar Permanence

Analyst

• Ability to solve a variety of static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods (hand calculations, in-house tools, and 3rd party commercial analytical tools)
• Acceleration, shock, and vibration measurement and data interpretation of ground and flight tests
• Modeling, simulation, and verification of spacecraft launch, in-space burns, and landing events

• Operate Hyper-X for analysis workflows and deliverables; integrate tool outputs into substantiation and reporting
• Perform structural assessments across relevant environments, as applicable: Quasi-static and inertial loads, Coupled loads analysis (CLA) support, Modal, random vibration, sine vibration, acoustic, and shock response, Buckling, stiffness/deflection, load path validation
• Create and review stress reports, substantiation packages, and certification/qualification artifacts (methods, results, margins, sensitivities)
• Conduct hand calculations to validate FEM results and support rapid trades
• Evaluate and uprate existing structures to carry higher loads, including: Identifying limiting load paths, local hot spots, and driving failure modes, Reanalyzing updated load cases and environments, updating margins, and documenting impacts, Recommending and substantiating reinforcement/redesign options (doublers, stiffeners, thicker gages, joint redesign, material changes, interface updates)
• Supporting retrofit/repair dispositions and verification plans (analysis and/or test)

• Prediction of Engine shock, vibration, and acoustic environments
• Review and interpret shock, vibration, and acoustic measurements from hot-fire and flight data
• Derive dynamic environment levels and generate associated documentation, specifications, and requirements
• Develop, plan, supervise, and verify component environments tests (e.g., vibration, acoustic, and shock tests) to validate analytical predictions
• Develop and improve tools and methods for efficient data processing and reduction of test and flight environments
