About the role
- Responsible for all WC/GL claims in assigned clubs and working to limit BJ's liability
- Implement best practices for proper and efficient chemical usage and manage chemical vendors
- Follow up on accidents in real time with Investigations team to gather information and set action plans
- Conduct Risk Assessments in each assigned club focusing on Safety & Food Safety and implement corrective strategies
- Serve as key stakeholder in Bottom Quartile program for WC/GL and monitor charge out and incident rate reports
- Handle regulatory visits, ensure compliance, and minimize fines and violations
- Respond to and investigate all accidents and forklift incidents, set remediation and training
- Conduct routine club visits monitoring perishable areas, refrigeration, power outage responses, and product protection
- Deliver trainings (including ServSafe) and certify leadership; monitor and proctor certifications
- Manage pest mitigation: coordinate with Ecolab, lead cleanouts, inspect clubs, and follow up on pest activity
- Build and maintain partnerships with federal/local government agencies and health departments
- Respond to member food complaints and recalls and assist in recalling contaminated grinds at club level
- Monitor Fresh trax compliance, refrigeration alarms, and cold chain investigations leading to product loss
Requirements
- Available and On-Call 24 hours/7 days a week
- Ability to respond and investigate accidents in real time and conduct root cause analysis
- Experience handling WC/GL (workers' compensation/general liability) claims
- Knowledge of proper and efficient chemical usage and chemical vendor management
- Ability to conduct Risk Assessments focused on Safety & Food Safety
- Experience with OSHA inspections, complaints, and regulatory compliance
- Ability to conduct rapid response investigations for forklift accidents
- Experience monitoring safety checklists and implementing corrective actions
- Knowledge of food safety practices for perishable areas and cold chain/refrigeration
- Experience responding to power outages and refrigeration issues affecting product protection
- Experience delivering and facilitating ServSafe certification training and monitoring certifications
- Experience with pest mitigation and working with pest vendors (e.g., Ecolab)
- Ability to coordinate with federal/local health departments and facilities teams
- Experience documenting incidents, monitoring charge out and incident rate reports
- Ability to lead training for perishable team members and implement corrective action plans
