About the role
- Define and uphold a cohesive design system and user experience across mobile, web, and telehealth
- Manage, mentor, and inspire a small team of product designers, fostering a culture of craft, collaboration, and continuous learning
- Partner with product, engineering, and clinical teams to translate complex healthcare workflows into simple, intuitive interfaces
- Set standards for research, prototyping, visual design, and usability testing to ensure product decisions are grounded in both creativity and evidence
- Contribute directly to product design where needed, especially in early iterations or high-stakes features
- Advocate for design thinking in strategy discussions and ensure the user voice is central to decision-making
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional design experience
- At least 3+ years in a leadership role managing designers
- Portfolio demonstrating exceptional design sense across mobile and web products, ideally including consumer-facing experiences
- Experience leading design in a startup or high-growth environment
- Comfortable working cross-functionally with product managers, engineers, and clinicians to tackle ambiguous problems
- Hands-on leadership: setting vision while also diving into details when needed
- Strong focus on usability, accessibility, and trust, especially in health-related experiences
