About the role
- Plan, write user stories, prioritize the backlog, and help remove roadblocks for the SecOps product team
- Ensure team capabilities to administer and monitor security tools and technologies and respond to incidents
- Evangelize and influence best security practices across other teams and stakeholders through engagement and collaboration
- Implement the mission and vision of the product team following Google Autonomic Security Operations practices and Agile
- Provide leadership and coaching to the SecOps team, including mentoring, performance assessment and change management
- Develop, maintain and coordinate incident response processes and procedures using team-managed technologies
- Facilitate recurring time for team members to develop workflow automation and to rotate evangelizing security practices
- Help plan and architect relevant security tools as needed
- Participate, facilitate or lead SecOps agile ceremonies (planning, stand-ups, retrospectives, sprint reviews)
- Engage specialists, contractors and manage necessary contracts, vendors and outsourced services
- Negotiate with leaders and stakeholders to remove impediments, escalate when appropriate
- Report to stakeholders including executive sponsor and Directors on progress and status of deliverables
- Identify risks and opportunities and recommend resolutions
- Meet regularly with capability managers to review individual performances and manage team budget and forecasting
Requirements
- A post-secondary degree in business administration, information technology management or a related discipline
- 5 - 7 years recent, related experience as well as experience in a leadership capacity
- An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered
- Proven expertise with managing Security Operations
- Proven record of successful operations and/or security team building and management
- Proven ability to build, lead and mentor teams to success
- Security and/or Operations background
- Knowledge in agile methodologies and tools
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Demonstrated ability at a management level for business planning and road mapping
- Demonstrated ability to build strong and trusting relationships with managers, employees and peers
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Problem-solving, analytical thinking/innovation, time management and multi-tasking skills
- Must be at least 19 years of age and legally eligible to work in Canada
