About the role
- Oversee manufacturing operations for the Torrington adhesive production site, managing reactor operations through chemical mixing, process, and filling
- Align schedules, labor, materials, and process controls to meet production, cost, and delivery objectives while maintaining safe and stable operations
- Lead and develop high-performing teams across production, equipment manufacturing, and maintenance; mentor managers and supervisors and foster accountability
- Ensure compliance with PSM, OSHA, ISO 9001, and environmental regulations; conduct site risk assessments and embed safe work practices
- Drive continuous improvement using Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM to reduce waste, variation, and improve productivity and yield
- Manage operational budgets, monitor labor/materials/utilities/maintenance costs, and prepare business cases for capital investments
- Develop and oversee preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maintain equipment reliability and availability
- Enforce quality control procedures, support root cause investigations, and implement corrective actions to reduce defects and customer complaints
- Standardize work practices, KPIs, and reporting across departments to ensure alignment and coordinated plans
Requirements
- BS/BA degree in Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field or equivalency required; advanced degree preferred
- Proficiency in using ERP systems – JDE-E1 most desirable – and Microsoft Office Suite
- Skilled in operational budget management and capital project recommendations
- 10+ years of progressive leadership in chemical manufacturing operations, including 5+ years managing multi-function teams.
- Proven expertise in chemical processes, unit operations, and process control systems
- Demonstrated success in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and TPM application.
