About the role

  • Lead strategic business development efforts across federal and state government sectors
  • Collaborate with Regional Directors, VPs, and Sales Representatives
  • Manage supplier relationships and develop pricing strategies
  • Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), lead proposal development
  • Prospect and qualify new leads, expand existing accounts
  • Represent Avantor at trade shows, customer visits, and industry events

Requirements

  • College degree or equivalent/applicable experience required
  • 5+ years of business development or sales experience in a solution-based, B2B environment
  • Proven success selling into federal and state government agencies
  • Strong understanding of procurement processes, grants, and budget cycles
  • Experience managing cooperative agreements such as NASPO or similar buying consortiums
  • Background in pricing strategy, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration
  • Familiarity with scientific services, laboratory environments, or distribution preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required due to travel expectations
  • Proficiency with CRM systems
