About the role
- Lead strategic business development efforts across federal and state government sectors
- Collaborate with Regional Directors, VPs, and Sales Representatives
- Manage supplier relationships and develop pricing strategies
- Conduct Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), lead proposal development
- Prospect and qualify new leads, expand existing accounts
- Represent Avantor at trade shows, customer visits, and industry events
Requirements
- College degree or equivalent/applicable experience required
- 5+ years of business development or sales experience in a solution-based, B2B environment
- Proven success selling into federal and state government agencies
- Strong understanding of procurement processes, grants, and budget cycles
- Experience managing cooperative agreements such as NASPO or similar buying consortiums
- Background in pricing strategy, supplier management, and cross-functional collaboration
- Familiarity with scientific services, laboratory environments, or distribution preferred
- Valid driver’s license required due to travel expectations
- Proficiency with CRM systems
