About the role
- Be a leader at the Carbone Cancer Center providing care to primarily adult patients receiving state-of-the-art radiation therapies.
- Navigate care for patients receiving upright proton beam therapy.
- Assess patients’ barriers to care, psychosocial, and learning needs to advocate for and support patients and caregivers collaboratively with teams and support services.
- Facilitate timely and coordinated transitions of care; provide anticipatory guidance, patient and caregiver education, and guidance in shared decision-making.
- Provide mental and emotional support to patients and caregivers through the continuum of cancer care.
- Participate in weekly multidisciplinary roundtable sessions and tumor board meetings.
- Participate in continuous quality and process improvement initiatives.
- Work at Eastpark Medical Center in Madison, WI; primarily Monday-Friday day shifts between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Required OR Associate's Degree in Nursing and achievement of BSN within 4 years of hire Required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN) Preferred.
- Master's Degree in Nursing, Social Work, Public Health, Healthcare Administration, or related field Preferred.
- 3 years of relevant clinical nursing experience Required.
- 1 year of nursing experience in oncology care Preferred.
- Registered Nurse license in the state of Wisconsin Required.
- Basic Life Support/CPR Required.
- Applicable Oncology certification based on patient population Preferred.
- Must be able to work primarily Monday-Friday day shifts between 7:00 am - 5:00 pm at Eastpark Medical Center, Madison, WI.
