About the role
- Independently evaluate the functional ability of patients through the administration, interpretation of standardized tests, clinical observation, and patient/family interview
- Create individualized treatment and educational plans and provide patient/family counseling and training
- Consult closely with multi-disciplinary team members to create collaborative treatment plans and integrative strategies
- Provide individual therapy sessions as well as group and/or co-treats with other disciplines as therapeutically appropriate
- Maintain patient records, documentation, and appropriate billing in accordance with federal and state regulations and company policy to ensure excellent standard of care
- Develop and implement innovative and specific treatment plans to maximize the patient's functional potential or return to previous level of functioning, based on clinical findings
- Facilitate functional and stimulating experiences to target and achieve individualized goals
- Contribute to program development
- Educate patients, families, team members, and caregivers on home programs that complement treatment
- Timely documentation of client progress and complete billing logs ethically and accurately for occupational therapy services provided
Requirements
- Current state license in OT
- NBCOT: National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy
- CPR/BLS Certification
- Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy
- At least 2-3 years of experience working as an OT with pediatric population
- Valid driver's license and auto insurance
- Ability and experience working independently, using critical thinking skills and processes to arrive at objective, strategic, results-oriented decisions within the context of patient care and department, division and organizational priorities
- Work in a collaborative environment with other clinicians with varied backgrounds in field
