About the role

  • Provide client service to partners, intermediaries and plan sponsors for retirement plans.
  • Develop and maintain detailed knowledge of retirement plan rules and Ascensus products and services.
  • Deliver consultative proactive client service and develop effective working relationships with team and internal departments.
  • Identify, record, monitor and resolve client issues; establish required actions for resolution and ensure service levels are met.
  • Provide thorough research, problem solving and issue resolution; communicate status and resolutions to clients and advisors.
  • Participate in strategy creation with Relationship Manager to ensure client retention and identify opportunity plans.
  • Assist in management of vendor relationships on behalf of clients and partners.
  • Anticipate client needs and recommend plan, product or functionality changes to improve client results.
  • Educate clients on plan features, product capabilities, Ascensus functionality and process.
  • Act as subject matter expert on specific topics, provide training and assist others across departments.
  • Prioritize activities, manage time, and perform other duties or special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 3 years direct client experience and Retirement Services industry experience or thorough knowledge preferred.
  • Certification or working towards certification (ASPPA, CEBS, etc.) in industry-related studies program preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively (clear, concise and professionally) with all levels within the organization and client base.
  • Excellent presentation skills, business etiquette, client service skills and time management.
  • Demonstrated professionalism in all aspects of the role.
  • Experience with financial services systems (recordkeeping, trust, trading); and experience with plan recordkeeping and trust reconciliation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Word and Excel required; Access and PowerPoint preferred.
  • Excellent evaluation and problem resolution skills.
  • Knowledge of retirement plans, ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations, and plan documents (individually designed and prototype).
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to make sound business judgments concerning issues with potential financial and client relations liabilities.
  • Ability to work extended hours to meet business needs as required.
  • Quality focus with attention to detail.
