About the role

  • Own the People Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive People roadmap that aligns with and drives business objectives
  • Be a Strategic Partner to Leadership: Serve on the leadership team as the primary expert on people and culture, advising on organizational design and talent strategy
  • Build Foundational Programs: Design, implement, and scale core programs including performance management, compensation and leveling frameworks, learning and development, and employee engagement initiatives
  • Champion Culture: Intentionally cultivate and scale company culture, defining core values and fostering connection, collaboration, and inclusivity in a distributed environment
  • Establish Operational Excellence: Build a lean, efficient, and compliant People Operations function; implement and manage systems (HRIS, payroll, etc.) and processes to support the full employee lifecycle
  • Balance long-term strategic planning with hands-on execution in a dynamic, high-growth startup environment
  • Shape policies, programs, and systems to attract, develop, and retain exceptional talent

Requirements

  • 8+ years of progressive HR/People Ops experience, with a proven track record of building and scaling the People function at an early-stage startup (Seed to Series C)
  • A "full-stack" People background, with deep expertise across the entire employee lifecycle and the ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution
  • Demonstrated success as a strategic partner to founders and executives
  • Experience building key programs from the ground up, such as compensation bands, career paths, and manager training
  • Strong business acumen and a data-centric mindset
  • Exceptional judgment and experience handling sensitive employee relations issues with empathy and professionalism
  • Tech-savvy and forward-thinking, with hands-on experience with modern HR tools (HRIS, ATS, compensation platforms, etc.)
  • Unimpeachable integrity and discretion
  • Experience in a highly technical industry, such as cybersecurity or defense tech (preferred)
  • Experience scaling a company through multiple funding rounds (preferred)
  • Experience managing international team members (contractors or via an EOR) (preferred)
