Engineer

• Perform a wide array of design functions within the mechanical-HVAC and process piping disciplines, including equipment selections, system sizing, load calculations, product and material specifications, and design layouts for mechanical and process piping systems.
• Lead equipment hookup “tool installation” design, including the layout of toolsets, mechanical and piping utility design, and creation of specialized drawings such as airflow diagrams, process flow diagrams, and P&IDs.
• Conceptualize and optimize layouts of tool(s) and supporting infrastructure with multiple options as may be desired by Client.
• Field survey of existing MEP systems to ensure accurate and optimized solutions for Process piping designs.
• Coordinate electrical requirements for toolset and lab with electrical personnel. May include coordination and supervision of the structural engineering design by outside consultants.
• Participate in the AlfaTech process piping / plumbing committee to continuously improve AlfaTech and client-specific standards for piping systems and associated control.
• Write technical reports to document engineering analysis and findings.
• Acts as a technical advisor to junior professional staff assigned to the project(s).

Engineer, Mechanical & Process

Mechanical Engineer

• Work closely with senior engineers through the electrical design and construction administration process
• Create electrical designs with Revit
• Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options and recommendations
• Assist in the planning and design of electrical systems for commercial facilities, including education, healthcare, office facilities, and other commercial and industrial projects
• Assist in the preparation of proposals, cost estimates, and equipment schedules
• Propose innovative solutions to design issues
• Coordinate project scope, design, and deadlines with project managers/senior engineers
• Perform submittal and shop drawing reviews and ensure timely response to RFI’s
• Conduct construction site reviews, prepare feasibility studies, and basis of design reports
• Manage tasks as required to ensure work is completed on time and budget
• Active participant in the design and construction project team meetings
• Coordinate, support, and communicate with colleagues across disciplines
• Maintain good relationships with internal and external stakeholders
• Ensure that designs are compliant with Building/Energy Codes and LEED standards
• Implement design in BIM environment

Design Engineer, Electrical

• Assist the Lead Project Engineer or Project Manager on various projects.
• Provide high level of technical leadership.
• Represent the firm in all project interactions with clients, contractors, architects, and team members.
• Perform electrical design utilizing the latest engineering software.
• Conduct voltage drop calculations, short-circuit calculations, and breaker coordination studies.
• Design an emergency power supply system and specify equipment.
• Use Title 24 Compliance Software for energy compliance.
• Participate in presentations and prepare project documentation.
• Develop and achieve project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Schedule and track project milestones and deliverables.
• Ensure adherence to contract and quality assurance procedures during design process.
• Review technical work and assist in establishing design standards.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Bookkeeper

• Process incoming Accounts Payable invoices.
• Initiate the completion of the weekly Accounts Payable check and ACH run using automated accounting software — includes matching of invoices to check copies, obtaining check signatures, and the distribution and mailing of checks according to department procedures.
• Process check requests and employee expense reports. Includes the coding of such expenses to proper general ledger accounts and obtaining proper signatures (approvals) according to department policy.
• General payment inquiries — answer requests regarding payment of invoices, invoice discrepancies, and assist in general requests as needed.
• Manage vendor relationships and new vendor set up.
• Coordinate with Project Managers regarding proper coding of charges on company credit cards and expense reports.
• Works closely with all accounting and finance personnel.
• Recommend process improvements to ensure timely processing of expenses and weekly deadlines are met.
• Reports to Assistant Controller.
