Designer

• Responsible for leading the efforts toward the development and completion of lighting design and documentation necessary to complete project deliverables.
• Perform a wide array of design functions, including lighting concepts, lighting calculations, illuminance levels, research of fixture alternatives, review fixture samples, construction of temporary mockups, etc.
• Perform research and analysis of design options.
• Prepare the basis of design reports.
• Provide lighting design solutions appropriate to the client brief, budget, and relevant standards.
• Create presentations, graphics, renderings, and imageboards.
• Attend client meetings with the ability to present and explain lighting design concepts.
• Produce drawings consistent with client requirements and standards.
• Perform submittal reviews and ensure timely response to RFI’s.
• Oversee the lighting design documentation via CAD layouts, lighting details, light fixture schedules, and lighting control specifications.
• Review cost estimates of project lighting specifications and adjust lighting design to meet the client’s budget.
• Review the construction progress of lighting installation at the project site and issue field reports to the design team.
• Conduct quality reviews.
• Supervise final aiming of light fixtures and lighting controls programming.
• Track project timelines and project deliverables.
• Manage tasks as required to ensure that work is completed on time and within budget.
• Coordinate, support, and communicate with colleagues across disciplines.
• Direct and review the work of Junior Lighting Designers and Lighting Interns.
• Adept at working in the field on a construction site.
• Attend construction site walkthroughs and project team meetings.
• Interface with other disciplines involved in the design team to coordinate mechanical, electrical, and plumbing requirements.

Senior Designer, Lighting

Engineer

• Assist the Lead Project Engineer or Project Manager on various projects
• Provide technical leadership on small to large projects
• Perform electrical design using various engineering software
• Conduct voltage drop calculations, short-circuit calculations, and related studies
• Design emergency power supply systems and ensure compliance with NEC articles
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project team members
• Prepare project documentation and manage project scopes and schedules
• Ensure adherence to quality assurance procedures during the design process
• Conduct site observations and facilitate design and construction team meetings

Senior Engineer, Electrical

Manager

• Provide quality control for completeness and adherence to company standards of all drawings produced
• Assist in developing BIM documentation and workflow process standards
• Train and oversee the day-to-day activities of the Revit Specialists
• Participate as an active member of the design production teams for a variety of internal Disciplines
• Collaborate with BIM Managers from other AlfaTech offices and participate in collaborative efforts towards standardization.
• Develops project BIM Execution Plans
• Manage software products including but not limited to incorporating new version releases and customization of the products
• Proficiency with Bluebeam.
• Manage the implementation of supporting software for BIM
• Evaluate new BIM related software and technologies
• Stay informed on best practices for use of Revit and BIM related products
• Support of related BIM Software
• Quality review of data integration workflows such as BIM data to IFC
• Knowledge of International BIM Standards (ISO 19650), including BIM metadata requirements.
• Knowledge of 3D, 4D, 5D, & 6D BIM
• Responsible for BIM standards development, implementation, and enforcement
• Automate routines in BIM to support standards and productivity

BIM Manager

• Provide input for BMS design documentation, including a sequence of operations, points lists, network riser diagrams, and instrument specifications.
• Conduct job site investigation(s) and construction observation(s) related to BMS projects.
• Review control strategy options for HVAC system types and configurations with clients; provide input and recommendations to the engineering design team.
• Manage tasks as required to ensure work is completed on time and budget.
• Communicate directly with clients and act as a primary point of contact for AlfaTech.
• Coordinate, support, and communicate with colleagues across disciplines.
• Actively participate in construction site walkthroughs and project team meetings.
• Attend equipment factory witness testing and software bench testing.
• Perform submittal reviews and ensure timely responses to RFI’s.
• Other duties as assigned.
