About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Analyze and develop appropriate designs solutions for new and existing buildings with emphasis on high performance mechanical design and sustainability
  • Perform project management duties for small to medium sized projects acting as the lead engineer and project manager responsible for overall project delivery and budgets
  • Prepare design packages for HVAC, fire suppression, and plumbing systems, including preparation of documents, drawings, scopes of work and technical specifications
  • Perform a wide array of mechanical design functions, including equipment selections, system sizing, load calculations, product specifications, and design layouts for mechanical system
  • Implement best practice engineering methods and produce drawings consistent with client requirements and standards
  • Assist with the preparation of project budgets and schedules
  • Ensure that designs are compliant with Building/Energy Codes and LEED standards

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in the design field
  • Exceptional management and supervisory skills
  • Demonstrated history of leading building HVAC design projects with satisfied clients
  • Ability to work on challenging design tasks and identify well-founded, original solutions
  • Highly knowledgeable of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, and other engineering analysis and compliance software
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Master’s degree and/or Project Management accreditation is preferred but not required
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
  • LEED Accreditation.
