About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Analyze and develop appropriate designs solutions for new and existing buildings with emphasis on high performance mechanical design and sustainability
Perform project management duties for small to medium sized projects acting as the lead engineer and project manager responsible for overall project delivery and budgets
Prepare design packages for HVAC, fire suppression, and plumbing systems, including preparation of documents, drawings, scopes of work and technical specifications
Perform a wide array of mechanical design functions, including equipment selections, system sizing, load calculations, product specifications, and design layouts for mechanical system
Implement best practice engineering methods and produce drawings consistent with client requirements and standards
Assist with the preparation of project budgets and schedules
Ensure that designs are compliant with Building/Energy Codes and LEED standards

Requirements

What you’ll need

Minimum 8-10 years of relevant experience in the design field
Exceptional management and supervisory skills
Demonstrated history of leading building HVAC design projects with satisfied clients
Ability to work on challenging design tasks and identify well-founded, original solutions
Highly knowledgeable of codes, standards, and construction/engineering processes
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, Bluebeam, Revit, and other engineering analysis and compliance software
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
Master’s degree and/or Project Management accreditation is preferred but not required
Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred
LEED Accreditation.
