About the role
- Responsible for compliant, efficient, and economical movement of goods across international borders
- Accurately classifying products (HTS and ECCN), managing import/export processes, and applying for necessary licenses
- Consults with internal departments and external customers to ensure compliance
- Develops and communicates import/export compliance policies and procedures
- May provide trade compliance training
- Interprets trade regulations and establishes business processes for licenses, permits, certifications, and technology release determinations
- Monitors trade regulations and communicates impacts to business
- Manages customs duty/tax spends and develops duty saving opportunities
- Develops and implements trade compliance risk mitigation programs and strategies
- Management of customs brokers and may manage logistics service providers
- Provides advice and direction for customs classifications, valuation, origin programs, FTAs, and other global trade programs
- Represents Agilent in negotiating with external government authorities on trade issues, audits, and investigations
- Advises businesses and infrastructure functions on key projects and initiatives
- Well-versed with SAP GTS or other Trade ERPs to manage compliance operational processes
- Position responsible for Canada Trade operations and team leadership for Mexico as required
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent, preferably in Supply Chain Management or International Trade
- Broker's license preferred
- 8+ years relevant experience in international trade, including 2+ years of Canadian trade
- Fluency in Spanish is preferred
- Well-versed with SAP GTS or other Trade ERPs
