Lead civil engineering aspects of energy projects from concept to detailed design delivering drawings, specifications, estimates and schedules
Provide technical guidance, review designs and resolve project challenges with practical, hands-on expertise
Prepare clear, accurate reports and documentation and support site activities through inspections and construction monitoring
Identify and mitigate risks related to health & safety, design, sustainability, and commercial factors
Represent the company professionally, support business development, and mentor junior engineers
Provide support across project stages including feasibility studies, technology assessments, technical due diligence, Lenders’ Engineer services, FEED, owner’s engineer, EPCM services, operation and maintenance support, optimisation and expert witness services
Requirements
Minimum 2:1 degree in civil engineering
Chartered Engineer status
Detailed working knowledge of Eurocodes and British Standards used within the UK energy sector
Experience of civil/structural design (foundation design advantageous)
Condition and structural assessment of existing structures (advantageous)
Energy project experience (advantageous)
Experience in the scoping of and management of site surveys and investigations (advantageous)
Previous consulting experience in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment (advantageous)
Experience of working with CAD software such as Revit and AutoCAD (advantageous)
Understanding of the use of design tools within a BIM environment (advantageous)
