About the role
- Deliver mechanical/HVAC/building services engineering solutions across all RIBA stages in highly regulated nuclear and defence environments
- Produce design deliverables including plant sizing calculations and commissioning documentation
- Coordinate with other design disciplines and liaise with multiple stakeholders
- Develop tender specifications for mechanical building services
- Work as part of a multi-discipline Mechanical Engineering team across UK offices (Glasgow, Warrington, Bristol, Reading)
- Provide occasional site visits and expensed business travel to client sites
- Support recruitment and development of career-minded engineers within the team
- Ensure compliance with security clearance and client regulatory requirements
Requirements
- Ability to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance (must be a UK national)
- Relevant Mechanical Engineering education
- Experience in the use of CIBSE guides
- Experience in the production of design deliverables e.g. plant sizing calculations (heating/cooling/fan sizing) and commissioning of mechanical building systems
- Familiarity with engineering software packages such as CAD, Hevacomp, BIM and simulation packages
- Ability to liaise with multiple stakeholders and coordinate with other design disciplines
- Experience in producing tender specifications for mechanical building services
- Preferably experience working in the nuclear and/or defence industries or relevant industrial design experience
- Willingness to undertake occasional expensed business travel to Client sites
