About the role
- Support accounting period close including journal entries, account reconciliations and variance analysis in core business areas of capital markets
- Execute accounting and reporting controls and procedures during monthly and quarterly close including departmental close packages, reconciliations, financial reporting support, analytics and efficiency metrics
- Support internal and external audit requirements for assigned areas
- Proactively review and improve procedures to ensure timely monthly close and accuracy of accounting entries
- Perform research and make recommendations for complex accounting scenarios
- Assist in designing, implementing, maintaining and monitoring corporate accounting policies, procedures and internal control documentation
- Conduct flux analyses and align on business drivers with Quantitative Markets, Capital Markets, Treasury and Strategic Finance
- Manage assigned projects and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver decision-ready information to business partners
Requirements
- 4+ years of relevant professional experience (combination of private and public experience preferred)
- Deep understanding of U.S. GAAP
- CPA preferred
- In-depth knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and proficiency in accounting systems
- Excellent analytical, creative problem solving, organizational and project management skills
- Strong sense of ownership and curiosity to learn new skills
- Initiative to implement process improvements
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and organizational skills
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (vlookups, conditional statements, pivot tables, data analysis, data visualization, what-if analysis)
- NetSuite experience preferred
- Passion for Affirm and interest in technology, money movement, BNPL, and consumer lending
