About the role
- Lead and manage a team of Sales Directors & Managers to achieve growth targets for Acuity’s electronics portfolio
- Set annual sales goals, monitor performance, and hold team accountable to execution and results
- Develop and implement strategic sales initiatives with channel leadership, agents, and vertical market leaders
- Adjust sales strategies based on market intelligence, competitive analysis, and performance data
- Manage team operational expense budget and foster a culture of ownership and continuous improvement
- Provide senior-level technical guidance to enhance technical selling and win complex opportunities
- Support market development and consolidate market insights to inform product development and innovation roadmap
- Monitor national market trends and competitor activities and share insights with leadership
- Oversee training, enablement, CEU presentations, and partner education aligned to sales priorities
- Mentor and coach Sales Managers on solution selling, territory management, and relationship development
- Collaborate with Product Management, Marketing, and Customer Experience to align go-to-market messaging and launch plans
- Lead annual planning, forecasting accuracy, budgeting, KPI definition, and analytics to drive accountability and ROI
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 5-7 years of sales leadership experience in lighting controls, components, or electronics
- Proven record of managing high-performing sales teams
- Demonstrated success developing and executing strategic sales plans across multi-channel distribution networks
- Strong technical aptitude and ability to translate product capabilities into customer value propositions
- Excellent communication and presentation skills with ability to influence at all levels
- Experience engaging the full construction and sales channel (designers, engineers, contractors, distributors)
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 51-75% of the time
