About the role
- Support existing and prospective accounts in need of Zayo fiber infrastructure services
- Develop customer relationships and drive sales of Fiber, Transport, IP, SD-WAN, Edge and Security services
- Generate sales revenue by actively promoting Zayo products and services to targeted account patches
- Understand network and proximity to key buildings to drive on and near net sales
- Understand local competitive dynamics and how to win highly competitive deals
- Present proposals and manage customers through a strategic sales process
- Maintain current business relationships, securing existing revenue on long-term commitments and selling net new accounts
- Work within the Sales team to develop account strategy, solution design, and relationship management
- Track, analyze and report on sales performance and activities in Salesforce and other reporting tools
- Provide accurate and timely forecasts of sales opportunities and maintain records of customer activity
- Coordinate closely with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and meet revenue objectives
- Manage high volume of work while maintaining responsiveness and collaborate as part of a team while performing with minimal supervision
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year College; or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of sales experience managing large and transactional deals
- Proven ability to build relationships
- Strong financial acumen; understand how to build a deal
- Quick learner who collaborates well with others
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Exceptional customer service and relationship building/maintaining skills
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Ability to operate with high autonomy in a new or existing market
- A sense of urgency and desire to rapidly accelerate results and career with Zayo Group Sales
- Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can work effectively with a diverse group of personalities
- High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work in a matrix management model
- Strong understanding of account management & the strategic selling process
- Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Salesforce a plus
- General understanding of Zayo Networks value proposition, products, and services such as Fiber Infrastructure, Transport, IP, SD-WAN and Security services
- Ability to travel as required by customers
- In markets with a local office, willingness to attend regular local meetings with sales, engineering, and ops teams
