About the role

  • Support existing and prospective accounts in need of Zayo fiber infrastructure services
  • Develop customer relationships and drive sales of Fiber, Transport, IP, SD-WAN, Edge and Security services
  • Generate sales revenue by actively promoting Zayo products and services to targeted account patches
  • Understand network and proximity to key buildings to drive on and near net sales
  • Understand local competitive dynamics and how to win highly competitive deals
  • Present proposals and manage customers through a strategic sales process
  • Maintain current business relationships, securing existing revenue on long-term commitments and selling net new accounts
  • Work within the Sales team to develop account strategy, solution design, and relationship management
  • Track, analyze and report on sales performance and activities in Salesforce and other reporting tools
  • Provide accurate and timely forecasts of sales opportunities and maintain records of customer activity
  • Coordinate closely with other departments to ensure customer satisfaction and meet revenue objectives
  • Manage high volume of work while maintaining responsiveness and collaborate as part of a team while performing with minimal supervision

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year College; or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of sales experience managing large and transactional deals
  • Proven ability to build relationships
  • Strong financial acumen; understand how to build a deal
  • Quick learner who collaborates well with others
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Exceptional customer service and relationship building/maintaining skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to operate with high autonomy in a new or existing market
  • A sense of urgency and desire to rapidly accelerate results and career with Zayo Group Sales
  • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and can work effectively with a diverse group of personalities
  • High tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work in a matrix management model
  • Strong understanding of account management & the strategic selling process
  • Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint; Salesforce a plus
  • General understanding of Zayo Networks value proposition, products, and services such as Fiber Infrastructure, Transport, IP, SD-WAN and Security services
  • Ability to travel as required by customers
  • In markets with a local office, willingness to attend regular local meetings with sales, engineering, and ops teams
