About the role
- Lead electrical engineering technical work for complex projects
- Track project progress, including scope, schedule, and fee
- Oversee technical review and provide high quality deliverables
- Provide team guidance on models, plans, details, and drawings of electrical engineering systems and components
- Guide electrical design for systems including medium-voltage distribution, microgrids, photovoltaic and battery systems, building power systems, lighting design, and low voltage systems
- Oversee electrical calculations including SKM analysis, arc flash, and photometric calculations
- Support career development and technical skill advancement of team members
- Motivate and inspire team members and foster a collaborative culture focused on innovation
- Communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Manage project and staffing plans and adjust to meet changing project needs
- Oversee project phases from initiation to completion, ensuring on-time, within-budget, quality delivery
- Serve as technical expert and discipline representative at meetings and events
- Deliver presentations at conferences and professional organizations
- Conduct training sessions and mentorship for internal employees
Requirements
- BA/BS or MA/MS in related field and fifteen (15) years related experience
- Registered Professional Engineer (PE) certification required
- Minimum of five (7) years of experience leading engineering projects
- Experience in building power systems, lighting design, medium-voltage distribution
- Experience with SKM analysis, arc flash, and photometric calculations (AGI or Elumtools preferred)
- Experience with building electrical system design for commercial, mixed-use, aviation, hospitality, and/or high-rise preferred
- Experience designing sustainable building systems; familiarity with LEED, Green Building Institute, or other sustainability credentialing
- Substantial experience designing in Autodesk Revit 3-D modeling software
- Experience directing the preparation of construction documents
- Experience conducting and leading QAQC and coordination of design documents between disciplines
- Proficient in MS Teams, OneDrive/SharePoint, and MS Office suite
- Experience with discipline related software applications and calculation tools
- Excellent presentation, interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex technical documents
- Able to write technical opinions, articles, and thought leadership social media
- Mentally and physically capable of performing all essential duties
- Willing to travel to project sites or offices, as needed
