Execute project work in accordance with company procedures within man-hour and cost budgets
Produce engineering deliverables including philosophies, reports, specifications, calculations, data sheets, and technical requisitions
Perform conventional engineering assignments involving equipment/product design, testing of materials, preparation of specifications, process studies or research investigations
Create designs, drawings and specifications using existing technology and applications
Apply academic knowledge to assigned scopes and support larger projects
Perform routine aspects of engineering assignments and collaborate with experienced technical professionals for non-routine aspects
Participate with drafters, technicians and others to contribute to project completion and coordinate work with other engineers and operating groups
Perform tests, research problems using technical information sources, design or modify components, and determine intent of specifications
Review vendor documents under supervision and make recommendations on acceptability of materials and contractor work
Take notes and actively participate in design reviews
Requirements
ISCED Level 6 Bachelors (minimum) or Level 7 Masters (preferred) Degree in engineering discipline, alternatively tertiary education combined with suitable industry experience can demonstrate equivalence
Typically requires two to four years of progressively more responsible pertinent experience
Ability to create functional and cost effective designs that meet specification and requirements with supervision
Some capability for conceptualizing designs
Proficient in use of design software and Database systems related to Engineering functions within their discipline
Ability to comprehend and interpret technical information applicable to their discipline
Able to apply academic theory in a practical context
Awareness of standards, processes and procedures and how they are used in work execution
Developing level of knowledge of regulatory framework and associated legislation
Developing level of competence in own discipline in the execution of assigned tasks
Developing level of knowledge of industry and technology development within discipline area
Working knowledge of specific procedures and applications
Some understanding of internal economic factors affecting projects to which assigned
Some knowledge of competitor capabilities
Solid understanding of policies and procedures that apply to assignments
Good level of general computer literacy and familiarity with relevant specialist engineering software
