  • Provide machinery analysis services including pulsation modeling and mechanical analysis
  • Leverage advanced signal processing and vibration data analysis skills for vibration troubleshooting
  • Apply knowledge of rotating machinery design, failure modes, and piping/small-bore excitation mechanisms (FIV, FIT, STA)
  • Write technical reports with actionable recommendations and present reports to clients
  • Assist on troubleshooting projects exploring new concepts and tools and identify additional on-site opportunities
  • Build and maintain customer relationships for effective communication and opportunity growth

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
  • 3 years of related work experience
  • 3 years experience selecting and using specialized sensors to collect vibration signals and applying algorithms to recognize patterns, diagnose failures, and facilitate corrective actions
  • 3 years experience identifying where to collect data on machinery systems including driver, driven, piping, SBC, and structure
  • 3 years experience performing data analysis to identify causes of high vibration and providing recommendations to mitigate vibration amplitudes
  • 3 years experience performing time domain and frequency domain analysis, envelop analysis, and modal analysis
  • 3 years experience performing signal processing data acquisition system setup with correct sampling rate, frequency span, resolution, and windowing factor
  • Ability to identify good and bad signals, time waveforms, spectral data, orbits, and shaft center line plots
  • Ability to collect and interpret data for diagnostic purposes
  • Experience with rotating and reciprocating machinery including reciprocating compressors and engines, screw compressors, plunger pumps, centrifugal pumps, fans, blowers, gearboxes, motors, and turbines
  • Knowledge of design basics to identify forces generated by machines, failure modes, and troubleshooting vibration and performance related issues
  • Troubleshooting experience including process and operating data response on machinery and piping systems and identifying machinery failure modes and excitation forces
