Providing technical dispositions and guidance for aircraft issues that exceed published limits for structural damage including sheet metal and composite repairs
Performing structural analysis to substantiate repairs
Providing work deviation authorization, interpretation of service documents & Technical Orders
Providing options for repairing versus replacing a part to minimize financial impact
Providing aircraft system trouble shooting assistance
Attending regular production meetings to ensure timely support
Providing on-site engineering assistance for significantly damaged aircraft as required
Coordinating events/issues with USAF Program Office for additional action, troubleshooting and follow-up
Monitoring trends and recurring discrepancies requiring corrective action
Developing Typical Repairs and manual supplement to eliminate repetitive Engineering Technical Assistance Requests (ETARs)
Authoring policies and processes to ensure general compliance with FAA regulations
Requirements
BS Degree (or higher) in Aeronautical, Aerospace, Mechanical, or Structural Engineering
Two plus (2+) years in specific technical discipline
Ability to perform structural analysis to substantiate repairs
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Strong investigative, analytical, and problem solving skills
Self-motivated, conscientious and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
Knowledge of FARs, FAA policies, and vendor manual (AMM, IPC, CMM)
Must be willing to work a flexible work schedule to meet internal customer's needs
Ability to pass a Tier 1(minimum) Investigation for work on Department of Defense contracts
