About the role

  • Own all facets of the Market Area Open Market Residential (OMR) Line of business
  • Identify, build, implement, and manage sales and marketing projects and programs to grow and retain the OMR customer base
  • Maintain and meet assigned revenue growth targets for OMR and forecast growth for operations and maintenance partners
  • Identify marketing business solutions that generate growth and customer loyalty and assure programs meet desired ROI
  • Manage marketing spend budget and track returns from all campaigns
  • Oversee efforts to reduce lost business due to customer late and non-payment of invoices
  • Integrate WM service offerings into OMR strategy and work with Pricing on profitable growth strategies
  • Maintain and implement corporate standardizations and best practices from Corporate OMR team
  • Drive communication and accountability of OMR inside the Customer Experience department and work with supervisor and team leads on initiatives
  • Provide clear and concise oral/written communication on OMR performance metrics
  • Establish and maintain communication with Public Sector Director and Sr. District Managers to assure Quality of Service (QOS)
  • May have direct reports; perform supervisory responsibilities as assigned
  • Travel when needed for internal meetings or projects across the Market Area

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (accredited) OR High School Diploma/GED (accredited) and four (4) years of relevant work experience
  • Seven (7) years of prior work experience in Sales Management or Operations (in addition to education requirement)
  • At least two (2) years of Business to Consumer (B2C) marketing experience (with examples of past marketing campaigns)
  • At least four (4) years of sales experience with accountability to sales targets
  • Preferred: WM residential open market services management experience
  • Preferred: prior personnel management experience
  • Marketing background with expertise in social media (Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram) and direct customer/prospect campaigns
  • Experience integrating a full range of service offerings into strategy
  • Forecasting and revenue growth target management
  • Experience with pricing strategies and understanding ancillary service charges
  • Budget management and tracking returns from campaigns
  • Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to communicate performance metrics
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functionally with Customer Service, Pricing, Operations, Maintenance, Billing, and leadership
  • Ability to travel when needed for internal meetings or projects across the Market Area
