About the role
- Lead the marketing organization for PayPal Co-Brand at Synchrony Financial
- Develop and implement marketing strategies and tactics to achieve Synchrony growth metrics and client requirements
- Work collaboratively with the General Manager and partner organizations to drive incremental card usage
- Serve as portfolio marketing leader with responsibility for developing and leading a team of direct reports
- Partner with business and client teams to develop, implement, and monitor dynamic annual growth plans
- Establish and develop senior-level partner relationships and incorporate client's business objectives and marketing calendar
- Optimize contractual marketing spend and pursue additional funds to meet growth goals
- Identify portfolio segments to target, test and implement programs to grow these segments
- Manage value proposition including tracking industry trends, competitors, and customer experience metrics
- Ensure program profitability and penetration; drive omni-channel execution and optimize digital assets
- Monitor and manage performance of key credit and marketing metrics vs. plan
- Assist in the development of the Synchrony Financial planning cycle and push cutting-edge thinking
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree OR in lieu of degree; high school diploma/GED and 14+ years of Marketing experience
- 10+ years marketing experience, preferably in credit card or financial services
- Demonstrated growth marketing leadership skills (analytic and creative)
- Significant exposure to consumer-facing programs/products
- Experience with digital channels – online and mobile
- Experience in co-brand/general purpose credit card product management
- Experience managing organizations and professionals; minimum 3 years managerial responsibility
- Advanced degree (MS, MBA) preferred
- Experience with PLCC, co-brand, and small business products
- Experience developing/delivering financial services via digital channels
- Prior experience in the online payments space preferred
- Collaborative style; comfort in a matrixed, decentralized structure
- Ability to travel as needed
- Strong PC proficiency (MS Office Suite) or comparable software
- Outstanding communications, relationship building, influencing and collaboration skills
- Strategic thinking and ability to implement actionable plans to drive results
- Consumer finance and related industry experience
- Familiarity with value proposition and new product development processes
- Direct marketing experience with acquisition and loyalty/lifecycle channels
- Demonstrated project management and problem-solving skills
- Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or equivalent
- Willingness to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and fingerprints
- Ability to satisfy requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. required; no visa sponsorship offered
