💰 $85,200 - $106,500 per year
About the role
- Develop the control system design for each project
- Develop project-specific simulation models (e.g., ACSL/Matlab)
- Perform project-specific design analyses with the simulation model
- Document the SWIL Test Guideline document
- Perform SWIL testing activities with the customer using the simulation model
- Lead and coordinate interfaces with Safety Analysis, Licensing, Setpoint Uncertainties, Fluid Systems, Nuclear Operations, Plant Operations, Plant Systems, Plant Licensing, and Plant Reactor Engineering
- Communicate directly with customers during project execution as the functional design lead
- Support projects through Simulator FAT, Hardware FAT, and System Installation
- Support innovation projects to reduce barriers and costs
- Train team members and next NSSS control system software designers
- Report to the GOS Manager; Control & Information System Engineering and be located at Warrendale, PA facility
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or similar field
- 5+ years of experience is required
- 1+ years of experience with computer simulations based on first principals using Matlab, LOFTRAN, RETRAN, ACSL, or other simulation codes
- Prior onsite plant experience in plant startup, plant operation, or plant testing (recommended)
- Interest/passion in control system design, simulation models, and I&C design
- Ability to communicate directly with customers and lead functional design during project execution
- Must be able to meet export control requirements for positions requiring access to controlled information (may affect hiring eligibility)
